Juliyaa is a new artist spreading her wings and flying a little further than her hometown London with her debut single 'The Rhythm'.
For her single, Juliyaa fuses together several musical inspirations and outputs a pop song that glistens with hints of soul and RnB. Unfortunately 'The Rhythm' lacks in lyrical content considering Juliyaa prides herself as a songwriter, but this is easily overlooked with the potential that can be seen and the snazzy visuals the production team conjured up:
It took me about 3 listens before I started enjoying the song but the persistence paid off. All the evidence of a superstar is definitely there, it's just disjointed in separate fragments around the song. The direction is about as focused as spaghetti junction with her determination to showcase her versatility under the one song, but it could keep you entertained as some sort of jigsaw game.
It may have been wise to first release the JimmyJames remix, this instantly captured my love and shows off her history in garage, instantly turning 'The Rhythm' into an incredible track.

Juliyaa is definitely one to watch in 2012, already a rising star with a few tweaks her opportunities will be endless.
(I'm now on my 5th listen and every suggestion of what could be improved is about to become irrelevant as my shoulders shimmy away so, that's a wrap)
